Prepare for ASQ Certified Technician Refresher Course

Quality professionals who seek CQT (Certified Quality Technician) certification from the American Society for Quality can take refresher courses offered by Gaston College Center for Workforce Excellence. The courses prepare students for the ASQ examinations. The ASQ Certified Quality Technician Refresher Course prepares participants for the ASQ examination for CQT certification. This certification requires a comprehensive knowledge of quality philosophy and the ability to apply quality processes and quantitative methods to help an organization’s quality system achieve its goals. The Certified Quality Technician, in support of and under the direction of quality engineers or supervisors, analyzes and solves quality problems, prepares inspection plans and instructions, selects sampling plan applications, prepares procedures, trains inspectors, performs audits, analyzes quality costs and other data, and applies fundamental statistical methods for process control. Two sections of the 24-hour course are offered: ? Saturdays, starting on June 30 and ending on August 23. Class meets from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ? Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting on July 10 and ending on July 26. Class meets from 6 to 10 p.m. As with the CQE course, both CQT classes take place in the Dalpiaz Student Success Center on the Dallas Campus of Gaston College. The Introductory Discount Rate for the ASQ Certified Quality Technician Refresher Course is $695 and includes the primer and solution book. It is important to note that prior to registering for either of these courses, students must refer to the ASQ website at www.asq.org to understand the education and experience requirements for the CQE and CQT certifications. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the ASQ requirements for the certifications are met. The application fee for the ASQ examination is not included in the course fees cited above. About the Center for Workforce Excellence The Center for Workforce Excellence (CWE) at Gaston College offers solutions for both employers in Gaston and Lincoln counties and for their prospective employees.
