The Junior League of Gaston County will host a meet and greet for prospective new members on Thursday , June 11th at 6:30 p.m. The meet and greet will be held at Spindle City Café located at 207 W. Main Street in downtown Gastonia. The meet and greet will be a time for any women who are interested in giving back to their community on a volunteer basis to meet with current members and to learn more about the organization and its mission. Founded in 1959, the Junior League of Gaston County, or JLGC, is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. This group of women strives to build strong financial and volunteer support for the health and well- being of women and children through program development and community partnerships. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable and is affiliated with the Association of Junior Leagues International.
