Join with us in a celebration of the life and works of Horace Kephart - author, outdoorsman, and a founding father of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Kephart wrote the classic study of Appalachian mountain culture. (Our Southern Highlanders, 1913) and the encyclopedic guide to outdoor living (Camping and Woodcraft, 1906). Explore an on-site living history demonstration of camping in the early 20th century style. Saturday's activities include presentations by researchers and scholars, including the author's great granddaughter Libby Kephart Hargrave.
