ISO 9001:2008 is a quality management system that has been implemented by companies and organizations throughout the world. Gaston College offers a one-day workshop to educate local business decision-makers on the risks of operating a business without ISO certification. Lack of ISO certification may result in loss of business or the inability to compete with other companies that have adopted ISO standards. The ISO 9001:2008 standard is applicable to any organization, large or small, and in any field of activity. It is based on quality management principles that are fundamental to good business practice and that can help improve organizational performance. The workshop will illustrate what it really costs to not have an effective management system. Participants will learn what is involved with ISO 9001:2008 and will be able to make an informed decision about adopting the ISO quality management principles.
